Well if it's an 05' not a 06' I got screwed too when I purchased it, but the vin shows up as a 2006 Yamaha 125cc ATV/RV. Either way the guy who purchased the bike was overly pleased it is literally like brand new, never raced. But like I said unless the vin is wrong it showed up as a 2006. And comparing pictures from Yamaha's website, the bikes are completely identical. Thanks for the concern though. Pictures attached below as well as the link. http://www.bikez.com/pictures/browse.php?bikeid=22568&pageno=4

The 05 and 06 both came with renthal 7/8 bars, so the barpad doesn't tell anything. The 06 had removeable barmounts on the top triple clamp. The clamps were also a light brown color, not silver like in 05. Here are my 06 clamps with the barmounts removed:
You can see in your pictures that the barmounts are not removable on. The 00-05 front numberplate will not mount on that style clamp, yamaha changed the way the plate is mounted. Also, look at your rear shock, it is silver, for 06 the rear shock was anodized light gold, you can see the difference between your photos. Also Compare the rear brake disk guard on your bike to the 06 pictures you posted.
You don't have to run the VIN number to find out, the 10th digit tells the year.
