i have a 2003 cr 125 that does not want to shift into 2nd, but every now and then it will go into 2nd smoothly. once i get it into 2nd it goes through all the other gears good. when i try to go into 2nd i some times here a grinding sound.

hows your clutch plates?? Check your gear box and make sure all sprockets have good teeth, and then go from there, most likely you should find your problem if not let me know....

After I did the clutch in my bike I had this same problem. Then I realized the little spline that comes out of the clutch case where the cable connects to was turned forward too far, it wasnt engaging the clutch all the way alls I had to do was slide the case off spin the spline back like 2 teeth or less and it was fine. Maybe that will work, maybe not but goodluck!

have you moved your shifter since the problem. I did it on my rm 125 and had the same problem moved it back where it wasnt hitting anything and problem solved.

there is a clip that is behind where the shaft goes in to the motor. mine fell of and it did the same thing, i got it fixed and worked fine. you have to split the cases to get to it. i had aden at binghamton honda do it but hes not there anymore.
