2009 Yamaha YFZ 450 R quad

For Sale: 2009 Yamaha YFZ 450 R quad, bike is in excellent condition. Quad has only 8 hrs of use on it, yamaha's white/red color scheme. Never raced, bought last summer as a left over model. Yamaha GYTR full nerf bars and hole shot tires on rear. Asking $6500 original MSRP was $8499

Im sure... you probably got the regular 450 not the "R" brand new they cant even sell them that cheap, I know I sell them! nice try

answered my own question= just googled it=

the 04-09 carbureted model is the YFZ450. in 09 they released the new fuel injected model "YFZ450R" and 2010 released the "YFZ450X".

the R and X models are the only 450 sport quad units being manufactured by Yamaha, they dropped the carbureted "YFZ450" units at the end of the 2009 model year.

there are other difference besides fuel injection and carburetors between the older and newer models. very, very few parts are interchangeable between the two units. the new R model offers a wider stance, longer shocks, and different geometry. an aluminum frame as well.

most of the parts are interchangeable between the R and X models. the R is a motocross application and the X is a cross country application. a-arm and axle width is the predominant difference between the two models.
