need help

i have a 04 yfz450 that i am having some problems with the tether working right, the quad came with a tether on it but wasent wired up so i wired it to the stock engine shut off switch on the bars and it didnt work right i switched my wires thinking i got them backwords and it didnt solve it, it works but not right when the clip for the tether is in it wont start but when you pull the pull cord out it will start, then i was told their are a couple different tethers something like a normally open and normally close tether? so i figered i had the wrong one so i bought one off of ebay that came off a 05 yfz450 that worked but i wired it up to mine and its still doing the same thing as old one.... can anyone help me out

you need the tether  for the proper  ignition system you have the wrong one obviously...pingel  is the only one i know of that makes the right tether you can go direct to the stock wires....pro armor  sells  a kit  with directions  for theres...you can hook a prodesign up the same way...but its grounding the stator out...not the best idea if you use it regularly.....

Maybe do some research but I think you need this adapter for the YFZ's

you switching wrong wires you need to interupt hot wire going to coil from stator with a normally open switch
