2007 CR 85 gearing

Hi , I have 2 questions. The first is my son is set up to begin racing in district 3 in the 12 year old youth mini Class. His bike is a 2007 cr 85r. It is the small wheel version bike. Could anyone tell me the best sprocket ratio to purchase . Right now it has a stock front and rear. The rear is a 49 tooth. Also I have to get a new chain. Should I go with o ring or non o ring ? What is the best sprocket ratios to get as well as the best chain to get. Thanks again for your help.

ok. Is he looking for speed or torque? speed go for bigger front smaller rear. For torque do opposite. Supersprox sprockets are amazing and last a ton longer than steel and aluminum. Get a oring and keep it trimmed and lubed. they last longer. my yz85 was a weiner on torque. So i would gear up, stock front and 50-52 rear. he will love it.
