HELP!! kx250f WHAT YEAR?

I have only the motor from a kx250f .  I dont have the VIN on the frame but there is a number stamped on the case.  What is this number? Can that help me find out what year it is?  Any other ways to tell what year it is?  Any help would be great.  Thanks

i am not sure if the engine is the same, but on the frame its the 10th digit is the year, say its a 5, then its a 2005, but i am not sure if that applies to engines

I know that the top motor mount is different in from an 06 250f to an 09 I don't know what year they switched it though but on and 06 engine you have to pull the engine mount braket to remove the valve cover on an 09 you don't and I believe the stator cover is also different so things you can check out idk if it will help or not

maybe you could try asking on an internet forum that either specializes in and/or has a section dedicated to kawasaki mx bikes?

 

i know it may sound kind of crazy...but it's worth a shot.

What color are the stator/clutch covers if there is anything left not rubbed off? 06's to 08 were a brownish color I believe, 09 up got the black coloring.

i called kawasaki directly and gave them the serial number they said it was from a 2005 thanks for all the help everyone
